Dilkusha Kothi was built in the early 19th century as an English-style hunting lodge and later palace for the Nawabs of Awadh. Damaged during the 1857 uprising, its evocative ruins now stand in open lawns near the Cantonment and Gomti Nagar side of the city, popular with history enthusiasts and photographers.
