Rumi Darwaza, the iconic Turkish-style gateway and one of the tallest historic gates in India, standing at the heart of old Lucknow.
Rumi Darwaza was commissioned by Nawab Asaf-ud-Daula in the same building programme that produced Bara Imambara, modelled after a gateway in Istanbul. Often called the Turkish Gate, it remains one of the most recognisable symbols of Lucknow and sits directly on the route between the old city’s major monuments.
Rumi Darwaza connects easily to Bara Imambara and Aminabad market. Share the ride there through Routism.
